[Capdist-auditions] Corrected Audition Notice for "Sweeney Todd"

Please post the  following corrected information for Glens Falls Community 
Theatre's "Sweeney  Todd" auditions: 
 
           Sweeney Todd will be directed  by Avery Babson with music 
direction by Mark Collier. Sweeney Todd will be performed Nov 6, 7  & 8 and Nov 
13, 14 & 15, 2015 at the Charles Wood  Theater.
There  will be a General Meeting on   Wednesday, September 2 at 7 PM at the 
United Methodist Church of Hudson Falls,  227 Main Street (Rte 4), Hudson 
Falls, NY.  Auditions are Thursday, 
September  3rd at 6:30 PM at the United Methodist Church of Hudson Falls.  
Contact  Linda Friedman, 518-792-9059, to arrange to pick up a script to 
review before  auditions.
 

CAST LIST &  AUDITION INFORMATION

 Sweeney  – Description:  A gloomy man with an air of brooding,  slightly 
nerve-chilling self-absorption. Audition Info:  Pretty Women" and "The Ballad 
of Sweeney  Todd."  Also, he should be able to  whistle the part from 
"Pretty Women." Range: F2 - Gb4 
 
 

Mrs.  Lovett  – Description:  A vigorous, slatternly woman in her  forties. 
 Audition Info:  "Worst Pies in London" and "Wait."  Range: G3 - E5 

 

Johanna  – Description:  A very young, exquisitely beautiful girl  with a 
long mane of shinny blond hair.  Audition Info: "Green Finch  and Linnet 
Bird." Range: Bb3 - A5 

 

Anthony  –Description:  A cheerful young ships first mate.  Audition Info:  
"Johanna."  Range: Bb2 - F4 

 

Beggar  Woman  – Description:  A ragged, mad creature of the  streets.  
Audition Info:  Her part in "No place Like London."  Range: Ab3 - F5 

 

Judge  Turpin  – Description:  An egocentric, autocratic  magistrate.  
Audition Info:  "Pretty Women." 

Range:  E2 - Gb4 

 

Pirelli  –Description:  An excessively flamboyant Italian with a  
glittering suit, thick wavy hair, and a dazzling smile.  He is actually an Irishman, 
Daniel  O’Higgins, masquerading as an Italian.  Audition Info:   'The 
Contest." Range: B2 - C5  



The  Beedle  – Description: An obsequious  assistant to Judge Turpin. 
Audition  Info: "Ladies in Their Sensitivities." Range: D3 - D5  



Tobias  – Description:  A simple-minded adolescent. Audition Info:  "Not 
While I'm Around."  

Range:  Bb2 - Ab4 

 

Chorus  –Description:  Serves as a commenting chorus and  portrays the 
citizens of London who frequent the Fleet Street area, inmates of  the lunatic 
asylum, police and other supporting characters.  Audition Info:  "The Ballad 
of Sweeney Todd" and a  scale.
