Classic Theater Guild announces auditions for the Pulitzer Prize winning
play, Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris

directed by Karen Christina Jones

Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris is set in "a modest three-bedroom bungalow"
in central Chicago. Clybourne Park is a fictional neighborhood, first
mentioned in Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun. In that drama, a
fictional account of an African American family's decision to move into a
new neighborhood: Clybourne Park, an all-white suburb of Chicago.

A response of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, this razor-sharp
new satire takes a jab at race and real estate in a fictional Chicago
neighborhood. The play begins in 1954 as a black family moves into a white
enclave. Act Two takes us back to the same house in 2004 as gentrification
sets in and the roles are reversed.

Russ Stoller: white and in his late forties
Bev Stoller: white, married to Russ and in her forties
Francine: black, thirties, housekeeper for the Stoller family
Albert: black, thirties, married to Francine
Jim: white, late twenties, a minister
Karl: white, thirties, president of the Clybourne Park Improvement

Betsy: married to Karl, late twenties, deaf, pregnant

Auditions will be Tuesday, December 8th and Thursday, December 10th 7.00pm
at Emmanuel Baptist Chruch, 275 State Street in Albany.
