*      Performing Artists Workshop
This team taught workshop features a three person faculty - resident Music Director Brian Axford, Producing Artistic Director Owen Smith, and Resident Choreographer AshleySimone Kirchner! Each student will receive dance, acting and vocal instruction during the weekly 90-minute class sessions. Based on an assessment by our staff, students will be divided into two levels to allow less experienced students separate instruction from intermediate students.
Classes are held Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:00pm at the Palace Theatre
Recommended for students from ages 8 to 13
This 10 week session's classes begin January 6 and run through March 9
Cost for 10-week session, per student is $250

*        Dance Classes
Resident choreographer for Park Playhouse, AshleySimone Kirchner, will be teaching a full series of dance classes in a variety of styles to students at a range of skill levels, beginner through advanced. Ballet is the basis of all musical theatre dance technique and we encourage all students to consider this class before or in addition to registering for Musical Theatre Dance. Advanced Jazz is a college prep track intended for students with significant prior dance training. This series of dance classes is ideal for middle and high school students.
Tap Dance - Tuesdays @ 5:30pm (one-hour class)
Ballet - Tuesdays @ 6:30pm (one-hour class)
Musical Theatre Dance - Tuesdays @ 7:30pm (one-hour class)
Advanced Jazz - Thursdays @ 5:30pm (90-Minute class). Note: prior dance training required.
             All classes will be held at The Palace Theatre in Albany
Ideal for students aged 12-18
This 10-week session's classes begin the week of January 5 and run through March 10
             Cost for 10-week session, per class per student is $250

*        Advanced Scene Study
The second session of this new class series is dedicated to advancing students' skills in the art of acting. While many local students have private voice teachers or take dance classes, it is our experience that very few students have gained formal instruction in acting technique. We firmly believe that this is essential for success in theatre, or as a dancer or vocalist. Classes will be taught by Producing Artistic Director, Owen Smith and is ideal for students who have participated in shows and are between the ages of 15-18.
Classes are held Thursdays from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at The Palace Theatre
This 10-week session's classes run from January 7 through March 10
Intended for students ages 15 to 18
Cost for this 10-week session per student is $250

*         Broadway Connection
The following master classes will be taking place on stage at the Palace this spring: (all dates are tentative)
January 18 (featuring Broadway Connection teaching artists from the cast of Cinderella) - Audition Techniques
April 4 (featuring Broadway Connection teaching artists from the cast of Lion King) - Acting Through Song
May 9 (featuring Broadway Connection teaching artists from the cast of Once) - Vocal Technique
These classes are taught by Broadway professionals who are currently on tour with the shows listed above. Master classes will be available at a rate of $50 per class, and run from 7-9pm on Monday nights. Appropriate for ages 8-18
