Broadway Camp        Broadway Jr.

Ages 15 – 19                                  Ages 12 – 14

Taught by seasoned Broadway professionals, students will discover life on stage and behind the scenes! Instructors will teach master classes in acting, voice and dance, allowing students to develop essential performing arts skills while having fun alongside peers who share their interests and dreams. Your student will leave this camp with a stronger drive, passion and skillset—plus a professional headshot!


Tuition: $350 

    Early Bird: $325 until March  (Broadway Camp only)

 

Broadway Dance

Ages 10 – 14  

July 13 – 17

1 – 4:30pm 

Designed specifically for advanced dancers who are ready to be challenged! With limited class size and an inspiring setting, dancers will enjoy the individualized attention and unique approach of our various instructors. Dance industry professionals will lead students in different styles of dance, and students will learn choreography from Broadway musicals throughout the week.  A mixture of music, dialogue, dance/movement, song and story, Broadway Dance is ideal for building a solid dance foundation for musical theatre, as well as learning to be comfortable on stage. 

Tuition: $250  

   Early Bird: $225 until March 1


TJI - The Jazz Institute 

Ages 14 & up   

August 3 – 7 & August 10 – 14  

9am – 3pm    

(3 – 5pm – Jam Band *)

Be a part of The Jazz Institute (TJI), the most immersive jazz experience for serious young musicians in the Capital Region! With recording clinics, master classes with renowned faculty, rhythm and improv courses and the transformation of the GE Theatre into a kickin' jazz club for your final gig, TJI will be sure to open your eyes to the thrill of playing jazz beyond the classroom. 

Tuition: $500

Imagine That! 

Ages 9 – 13   

July 13 – 17  

9:00am – 4:30pm

Let’s reveal the world of imagination and creativity that is within everyone! Improv games, group invention, prop-based skits and more will await your child in this summer adventure. Each student will be excited to show off in the end-of-the-week performance!

Tuition: $250

 

Improv Anywhere!

Ages 9 – 13  

July 20 – 24  

1:00 – 4:30pm

Summer should be filled with spontaneity, humor and invention! Improv encourages your child to be goofy and spontaneous, all while teaching them to authentically listen and react through games and exercises. Students learn to think on their feet and approach situations enthusiastically and with creativity.

Tuition: $125

 

Acting Out!


Ages 7 – 10  

July 6 – 10 or July 27 — 31 

9:00am – 4:30pm


This program helps students develop core skills that every actor needs, regardless of age – self-confidence, awareness of others, creativity, cooperation and the permission that the stage allows, to act like a goofball sometimes! Each day, your star will learn to project clearly, improvise, trust in themselves and listen to others, all while building a final presentation for you!

Tuition: $250

 

Missoula Children’s Theatre: Rapunzel

Ages 5 – 19    

July 27 – August 1


Auditions on July 27, 10am – 12pm

Performances July 31 & August 1

Audition on Monday, lights up on Saturday! In between is the whirlwind creation of Rapunzel, the latest theatrical adventure by internationally acclaimed touring company, Missoula Children’s Theatre. Through rigorous rehearsals and zany acting games, Missoula’s professionals will impart useful acting lessons throughout the enriching, weeklong theatre experience. A stress-reducing group audition leads directly into a week of rehearsal, culminating in a performance in the state-of-the-art GE Theatre at Proctors.

Tuition: $125

    Purchase of camp is done at the Box Office post auditions, registration needs to be completed before auditions. 

Film Institute  

Ages 15 – 17   

July 13-16, July 20-23, & July 27-30   

9am-3pm

This three week intensive filmmaking program will cover all aspects of digital video production, from learning techniques to developing effective story ideas to the creation of an effective short film. Students will learn about pre-production planning, storyboarding, camera operation, lighting, sound, shot composition, and computer editing, while working collaboratively on group projects. Students will also learn about the various ways to distribute and promote their work both online and through various film festivals. New and returning students welcome!

Tuition: 3 Weeks: $600 

    Early Bird: $575 until March 1

 

Reel Adventures

Ages 10 – 14   

August 3-7 & August 10-14   

10am -2pm 

Go from script to screen and everything in between: writing, planning, assembling cast and crew, location scouting, camera and lights. Reel Adventures is the hands-on program where you learn how to make the vision in your head a story for all to experience. This two-week intensive is sure to open the floodgates of expression as you learn to navigate the vast medium of film.

Tuition: 2 Weeks: $270 

 

NEW Photography Camp

Ages 14 and up  

August 3 – 7

9am – 12:30pm

Join us for this hands-on exploration of photography in the digital age. Students are immersed in the art and craft of still photography, while learning to make the most of the tools they have to capture great images.  Students will develop the skills needed to research, compose, and capture digital photographic projects in this fun-filled course while expanding their repertoire of techniques. They will work with professional lighting as well as inexpensive and practical sources of light and shadow. Students must bring their own digital camera. 


Tuition: $175

  

NEW Stage and Special FX Makeup*

 Ages 12 and up   

August 3 – 7

1 – 4:30pm

Proctors and The Costumer bring you an exciting new theatrical learning experience!
Let your imagination run wild as you explore the science and artistry of stage makeup! This fun, hands-on exploration into the world of stage make up includes a variety of themes and styles, including age and character makeup, scars and special effects, and even Zombie Day!  Students will be taught the fundamentals of makeup, color theory and coordination, sanitation and hygiene, highlights and shadows, cuts and bruises, and more.
Each student will receive a Mehron Mini-Pro Makeup Kit, valued at $20, to use at camp & enjoy at home. 
Tuition: $175
*This camp is not recommended for children with skin allergies and/or skin conditions.
 

NEW Production Boot Camp  

Ages 14 and up   

August 10 – 14

1 – 4:30pm 

Production Boot Camp puts students side-by-side with professional designers and craftspeople <http://www.travelingplayers.org/about/faculty-and-staff/>. In one week, they’ll learn essential skills of technical production from the professional staff at Proctors.  These five sessions cover the basics of working in a professional venue with stage lighting, stage carpentry, rigging, operating a fly system, using sound equipment and good practices for safe and efficient stage crew operations. Successful completion of the Boot Camp earns a Certificate of Technical Theatre Training.  Enrollment limited. 


Tuition: $17
