[Capdist-auditions] Auditions for The Last of the Mohicans

Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama, Inc. will hold auditions for an August production of The Last of the Mohicans on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Gideon Putnam Resort in the Saratoga Spa State Park, 24 Gideon Putnam Road, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

The show will rehearse Sunday afternoons and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings in the Saratoga or Albany area (location TBD) starting June 28.

Outdoor performances will be held on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights in the courtyard of Fort William Henry in Lake George on August 2,3,4,9,10,11,16,17,18.  Performers will receive a $300 travel stipend.

Auditioning performers should prepare a brief monologue showcasing vocal ability and be ready to read from the script for the following roles:

Hawkeye, 40, an able frontiersman
Chingachgook, 45, a noble Mohican chief
Uncas, 20, his courageous, passionate son
Magua, 35, a villainous Huron warrior
Colonel Munro, 60, British military commander
Cora, 22, his strong, mixed race daughter
Alice, 18, his younger daughter
Major Duncan Heyward, 27, brave officer in British Army David Gamut, 35, a weak minded music master
Montcalm, 40, Nobleman commanding the French
Lieutenant Henry Jones, 23, American officer of the British
Betsy Jones, 20, his wife
Willow, 40, female chief of the Huron
Sagamore, 90, ancient sachem of the Delaware
Wish-ton-wish, 18, princess of the Delaware
Huron warriors, British soldiers, settlers of various ages.
