*Auditions will be held:*

*Tuesday, April 28 and Thursday, April 30*

*At 7:00 p.m.    Sign-in at 6:30 p.m.*



All auditions will take place at the NSCP Storefront (next to Toys R Us) in
the Village Plaza, 19 Clifton County Road, Clifton Park. Ages 14 and up,
please.



Rehearsals begin in early May, with performances July 17-19 and July 23-26
at The Common in Clifton Park.



Please come prepared with 16-32 bars of a Broadway show tune. No a capella
singing. An accompanist will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing, as
there will be a dance audition. (If you are interested in auditioning for a
tapping role, please come prepared for a tap audition.) This is a
dance-heavy show, and while dancing is not required for every role, all
must be “good movers.” There will be readings from the script.



*Anything Goes* is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s
magical scores. This age-old tale of boy-meets-girl and the complications
will intrigue every audience. It’s a wonder that all the romances are
sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where *Anything
Goes*!



*Cast of Characters*:



Reno Sweeney (female/mezzo/belter) 20-45, lead; Nightclub singer, former
evangelist, must be able to move well, tap preferred but not required.



Billy Crocker (male/tenor) 21-36, lead; Whitney’s “general manager,” In
love with Hope, must be able to move well, dancer preferred but not
required.



Hope Harcourt (female/soprano) 19-30, lead; love interest of Billy Crocker,
engage to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, must be able to move well, partner dancing
preferred but not required.



Moonface Martin (male/tenor) 40-65, supporting; Public Enemy #13, hiding
from the law, strong comedic timing required, character voice preferred but
not required.



Erma (female/mezzo) 21-32, supporting; Moll, traveling with Moonface
Martin, dancer, character voice preferred but not required.



Lord Evelyn Oakleigh (male/baritone) 30-45, supporting; English gentleman,
engaged to Hope Harcourt, love interest of Reno Sweeney, strong comedic
timing required.



Mrs. Wadsworth T. Harcourt (female/spoken) 50-65, supporting; mother of
Hope, society matron, trying to hold on to her position in society.



Elisha J. Whitney (male/baritone) 50-65, supporting; Wall Street executive,
Yale man, must have good comedic timing.



Purser (male/baritone) 18-30, cameo; Purser of the liner “American,” will
also double in the ensemble.



Captain (male/baritone) 40-60, cameo; Skipper of the “American,” will also
double in the ensemble.



Minister (male/spoken) 35-60, cameo; Minister takes the fall for Moonface.



Luke (male/spoken) 20-55, cameo; Chinese, Christian convert and gambler,
strong comedic timing.



John (male/spoken) 20-55, cameo; Chinese, Christian convert and gambler,
strong comedic timing.



Chastity (Angel) – a girl in the back-up vocal quartet for Reno’s act,
dancer preferred.



Purity (Angel) – a girl in the back-up vocal quartet for Reno’s act, dancer
preferred.



Virtue (Angel) – a girl in the back-up vocal quartet for Reno’s act, dancer
preferred.



Charity (Angel) – a girl in the back-up vocal quartet for Reno’s act,
dancer preferred.



Fred (Bartender) – In the first scene, also doubles in the ensemble.



Photographers, Reporters, Sailors, Crew members, Passengers, FBI agents,
Sailor Quartet, Old Lady in Wheelchair – Large ensemble that will play many
different roles and be on stage often.
