AGE RANGE: 14 and Up

Do you love playing jazz but don't know how to take the next big step? Leap into The Jazz Institute (TJI), the most immersive jazz experience for serious young musicians in the Capital Region! With recording clinics, masterclasses with renowned faculty, rhythm and improv courses and the transformation of the GE Theatre into a kickin' jazz club for your final gig, TJI will be sure to open your eyes to the thrill of playing jazz beyond the classroom. Check out these ramped-up offerings, taught by a dedicated group of teachers and performers and featuring guest specialists:

•   Group improvisation and small combos

•   Master classes

•   Recording clinics

•   Audition tape recording

•   Video viewing sessions

•   Guided discussions by area professionals

•   Performance in the GE Theatre

•   A high-quality CD of your final performance

SKILL LEVEL: High school level and intermediate adults

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Submit a CD/DVD or as a digital file at the time of the registration
