THE RISE ABOVE is an local original independent television series. In the
cutthroat world of the performing arts, a group of long-time friends
struggle to make it big. Will they have what it takes? Highlighting real
cast performances (actors, dancers, singers, musicians of all types) and
featuring strong dramatic themes, THE RISE ABOVE is an emotional and
entertaining ride through what it means to fight for your dreams.

Here are the characters that are needed:

JOSE GARCIA (M/ Hispanic or Hispanic looking /18-25)

JOSE is an aspiring filmmaker and is the peacemaker of the group. He often
comes up with the most random and Strange things to say, but is extremely
thoughtful and contemplative. He is the younger brother of GABE.

BRIAN MILLER M/Africa-American /20-25)

BRIAN is an handsome aspiring rap artist who has a tendency to get a little
hot under the collar, but he is extremely talented. He wants to be the next
Jay-Z. He desperately loves his girlfriend, ERICA, but has a difficult time
showing it. Brian has a Troubled and mysterious past that he doesn't often
talk about. MUST BE ABLE TO RAP OR SING.

SOPHIE ABELLA:F/All Ethnicities/18-25)

SOPHIE is a singer/songwriter who plays the piano. She struggles with PTSD
and hides a secretive past. She clings to her Friend GABE who protects her
and is kind of like the father figure she never had, having grown up as the
daughter of a Struggling single mom with a host of bad relationships under
her belt. Sophie is eccentric and very expressive in Character. SOPHIE may
not say it outright, but she's always felt that GABE and she would end up
together in the end.
