                        *THE GHENT PLAYHOUSE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS*
*                        FOR "THE WEIR," A PLAY BY CONOR McPHERSON, *
*                        DIRECTED** BY AARON HOLBRITTER*


Monday and Tuesday evening, November 16 and 17, 2015
Sign-in at 7:00 p.m.
Auditions begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Ghent Playhouse, located at 6 Town
Hall Place (off Route 66) in Ghent, New York

*SYNOPSIS:  *In a bar in rural Ireland, the local men swap spooky stories
in an attempt to impress a young woman from Dublin who has recently moved
into a nearby "haunted" house.  However, the tables are soon turned when
she spins a yarn of her own.

*CHARACTERS:  *Jack - 50's
                             Brendan - Late 20's - 30's
                             Jim - 40's
                             Finbar - 40's
                             Valerie - 30's


*PERFORMANCE DATES:  January 22-24, January 29-31, and February 5-7, 2016*

Those planning to audition should come prepared with a 1-2 minute dramatic
monologue *OR *a really good story.  There will also be readings from the
script.

*PLEASE NOTE:  A strong Irish accent IS required for all characters*
