Musical Theatre Class Description
Class focuses on performance, musicality, and bringing your own self to your work. Class begins with a set modern/funk jazz warm-up, touching on the styles of Horton, Limon, Luigi, Fosse, Cole-and focuses on a combination of isolations, basic ballet and jazz technique and presentation. Through the warm-up and across the floor exercises, students will develop their technique as a foundation. New choreography will be taught each class to familiarize students with diverse styles although some routines will be worked on for two consecutive classes to allow students to perfect and fine tune the choreography. This also allows for longer combinations resulting in better memory retention. The atmosphere is fast paced, positive, professional and challenging, to promote self-confidence, and allow each student to develop their performance skills in an encouraging environment.

 

 

STREET JAZZ!!(Beginner/Intermediate)

Street Jazz Class Description

A fusion of hip hop, popping, house & jazz this class focuses on character development and story with movement to a variety of music styles. It is designed to challenge all dancers, from beginner to advanced, to move in new and innovative ways while allowing performance, musicality, and bringing your own self to your work.  Class begins with a stretch and tone warm up that includes body isolations and groove exercises that often end in video-style choreography. Routines are often worked on for at least two consecutive classes to allow students to perfect and fine tune the choreography. This also allows for longer combinations resulting in better memory retention. This style is hard hitting, dynamic and fluid. The atmosphere is positive, professional and challenging, to promote self-confidence, and allow each student to develop their performance skills in an encouraging environment.

 

 

 

CONTEMPORARY DANCE!! (Beginner/Intermediate)

Contemporary Class Description
A fusion of modern, jazz & ballet this class focuses on organic movement and syncopated rhythms. It is designed to challenge the dancer to move in new and unconventional ways while allowing performance, musicality, and bringing your own self to your work.  Class begins with a set modern & ballet warm-up, focusing on a good solid stretch and core strengthening. Through the warm-up, floor exercises and combinations students will develop their technique as a foundation. The approach of the class is athletic, and uses breath, weight, focus, and intention to encourage dancers to execute movement with precision and passion. The atmosphere is fast paced, positive, professional and challenging, to promote self-confidence, and allow each student to develop their performance skills in an encouraging environment.
