*Modern Classic Reads: A primer for directing new plays*

September 28, 2015 to October 12, 2015           3 Mondays — 06:00 PM to
08:30 PM

This is a work-shop style series of classes for those interested in
learning to direct new works for the stage, a selected new play will be
read, studied and dissected from the director’s perspective with particular
attention to the many roles and functions of the director in production.
This is an open class for those who want to learn how to approach directing
a play.

*Instructor: Andrea Cunliffe  *has worked professionally in theatre and
broadcasting on both sides of the Atlantic since she was 12. Obtained her
BA from Goodman and for 28 years she has lived and worked in London
England. As an actor she appeared in over 40 theatre productions and
numerous radio plays. As director/producer she has directed modern
classics, new writing, and devised theatre pieces, she is a founding
member, actor and company manager Godot Company. She has produced new
writing, film festivals, performance art, special events and multimedia
productions. For 4 years she was Artistic Director of 11 Wardour St.
Theatre, London focused mainly on new writing. Andrea is a member of the
Young Vic Directors Forum and British Equity.



Since relocating to Upstate New York she recently directed Beckett’s
“Endgame”, John West’s “Jarry”, and “Tennessee Williams – the short plays”
and has immersed herself in the Hudson Valley independent film industry,
with 3 feature and 3 short films.
