AUDITIONS

Announcing Non-Union Auditions for an original, multi-racial CourtroomDrama, with Music.

 “The Kentucky Tragedy.”

All ethnicities welcome. These are paid positions. Excellent parts for men and women of color. 

Three Days of Auditions:

Wednesday, April 13, 2 PM to 8 PM, Valatie Community Theatre, 3031Main Street, Valatie, Columbia County, NY

Thursday, April 14, 2 PM to 8 PM, Copake Grange Hall, 628 EmpireRoad, Center of the Town of Copake, off Route 22, Columbia County, NY

Friday, April 15, 2 PM to 8 PM, First Reformed Church of Hudson, 52Green Street, Hudson, Center of Town of Hudson, Columbia County, NY

Please bring a prepared Monologue, or Two.  If you play a Musical Instrument, pleasebring it along. “Sides” and Copies of the Text will be available.

There will be a Cash Stipend paid for four weeks of Short Rehearsals,and Performances, through May.

CAST BREAKDOWN:

Anne Cooke: 22-35 years old. (Caucasian.)  Stately and beautiful.  Betrayed by her suitor, she seeks solitude,redemption, and revenge.

Ellen Reardon:  22-35 years old.  (Actress of Color.)  Closest friend to Anne.  Her confidante and critic. 

Jerry Beauchamp:  22 -30. (Caucasian.) Leading man.  Stable, self-sacrificing.  Hail fellow, well met.

John Pope:  25-45. (Caucasian.)  Leading man.  Defense Attorney.  Firm, but calm temperament.  Reliable, reassuring.

Nathaniel Whitman: 25-45.  (Actor of Color.)  Homestead Foreman.  Possesses a steady and generous nature.

Charles Bibb: 25-45.  (Caucasian.) Prosecuting Attorney.  At thecenter of a crisis.  Determined to makean impression.

Petita: 20-25.  (Actress of Color.)  Wiser than her years. Speaks truth to the powerless.

Witnesses:  There are a number of Witnesses who testify during the Trial.  They are different types, unusual and  interesting characters.  The play is an Ensemble Piece.  There will be Singing and Square Dancing in the Show.
