> SCHOOL OF ROCK is a brand-new musical based on the famous Paramount film. The musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. The stage musical currently on Broadway is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has composed 14 new songs to create a score, which also features all of the original songs from the movie. SCHOOL OF ROCK, with its sensational live kids’ rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music. May the spirit of rock be with you!

> WHAT TO PREPARE:
> 
> •   ACTORS/SINGERS: Prepare 16-32 bars of a song of your choice that shows your range. Bring sheet music in the correct key and headshot/resume. Be prepared to learn a short dance combination
> 
> •   MUSICIANS: In addition to the five onstage actor-musicians in the School of Rock band, we are seeking advanced musicians 14-18 years old to play in the pit (electric guitar, drums, bass, keyboard) and in the No Vacancy Band (Drums, Bass, Rhythm and Lead Guitar). Prepare a 1-2 minute  piece that shows skill level- pop/rock if possible.

> PLEASE NOTE: Those auditioning for the roles of Zach(Guitar) Lawrence(Keyboard), Freddy(Drums) or adult roles in No Vacancy Band(Guitar,Bass) should be prepared for both the singer and musician audition portions. . Drumset/Keyboard/Amps will be provided. Please bring guitars/bass  if you play.
