Based on the cult hit film of the same name, *The Full Monty* a 10-time
Tony Award-nominee, is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and
the most highly-anticipated closing number of any show. The powerhouse team
of Terrence McNally (*Ragtime*) and David Yazbek (*Dirty Rotten Scoundrels*)
cook up an aggressive crowd pleaser that both entertains and grabs your
heart.
While spying on their wives at a 'Girls' Night Out,' a group of unemployed
steelworkers from Buffalo see how much they enjoy watching male strippers.
Jealous, out of work, and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold
and unclothed way to make some quick cash. In preparing, they find
themselves extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally. As
they conquer their fears, self-consciousness, and prejudices, the men come
to discover they're stronger as a group, and the strength they find in each
other gives them the individual courage to "let it go."
*The Full Monty* is a story full of heart. Right to the end, audiences will
be wondering if these lovable misfits will really pull it off. With a
raucous mix of razor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizzazz, this heartwarming
upbeat comedy is a must for any theatre looking for a big hit.

If you are auditioning for these 6 roles, or Keno, you need to be very
comfortable with your body; enough to perform on stage in your underwear
and eventually a g-string. Will we go all the way? You must be prepared to
do so and must agree to such to be considered for those roles. Trust is a
key word for our production – you will be taken care of respectfully and
our final moment will be powerful, yet careful. Wear clothing to auditions
that reveals your overall body shape accurately. You will not need to
undress at auditions.
Reminder to women: this show is not just about the guys and their underwear
issues! The women's roles are powerful, pivotal, and memorable with
kick-ass songs. There is no heart without connection and the women are
critical in creating the circle.
Character Breakdown
Jerry Lukowski An unemployed mill worker, fighting to maintain his pride
and the custody of his only son. All-American jock and the definitive man's
man. Spontaneous. Very prideful. Gender: male Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range
top: D6 Vocal range bottom: C4
Nathan Lukowski Jerry's young son. 12. Range: age appropriate. “12 years
old going on forty” but young-looking for his age. Nathan can be stoic,
sincere, and charming, but ultimately real as he deals with his parents'
custody battle. Key player who does a lot of witnessing. PARENTS: Please
watch the original movie and find an opportunity to read the musical's
entire script BEFORE your young man auditions. The movie is Rated R for
language and differs from the play in significant ways. The script for the
play is available from the library, book stores, or you can contact us
directly for a perusal. Nathan sees and hears adult-themed content and,
critically, drops the f-bomb (says “f**k” once - no exceptions). May end up
a non-singing, non-dancing role. Boys will use the exact same audition
process as adults, including singing and dancing.
Pam Lukowski Jerry's estranged wife and high school sweetheart. She wants
what is best for her son. Strong business woman, but also compassionate and
motherly. Gender: female Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range

Georgie Bukatinsky Dave's wife. She loves her husband, and worries about
him. Loud, outgoing and brash. She is the "leader" of her group of
girlfriends. Gender: female Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range

Harold Nichols An unemployed supervisor at the mill. Hot Metal's
choreographer. Thinks his worth comes from providing for his wife, so he
hides his unemployment from her. Gender: male Age: 35 to 45 Vocal range

husband more than anything, and supports him no matter what. Gender: female

"average sized" Black man. Despite being old and slow when walking, he

Jeanette Burmeister A piano player of indeterminate years and show-business
pro. Sassy, quick-witted, and larger than life. Has slowed down in recent
