JEWEL of the AIRS - seeking Miss Izetta Jewel
Multiple Stage and Film Projects

Izetta Jewel - (35 - 50) turn of the century Broadway STAR, intelligent,
vivacious and beautiful - so alluring  in fact, that it was said she had
over 40 marriage proposals at one time!   Retiring from the stage at first
to start a family - she quickly finds herself as a very wealthy woman
beginning new roles in politics, society and the arts. Outspoken,
vivacious, artistic and driven - by the 1920’s she plans her RETURN to the
stage in the productions we are casting here.

“The Queens Messenger” by J. Hartley Manners (1902) STARRING as the “MASKED
LADY” - a seductive, socialite, spy whose mission is to steal the secrets
from a handsome young military officer.  1 one act, 2 character play

1st PRODUCTION - a “showcase” production  scheduled tentatively for a
public reading / performance end of May 2016. Commitment is modest for this
show - rehearsals, limited staging - single performance.  It will be
recorded. It is intended as a “development” exercise. The actress chosen
will have significant input in the future expression of story and character

2nd PRODUCTION - features this play, The Queen’s Messenger “wrapped” in a
new original production (BROADCAST!)  where the character of Izetta Jewel
portrays both the “LADY” and herself as an actress returning to the
“stage”, after many years of absence to perform in the 1st DRAMATIC
TELEVISION BROADCAST in history. This is a full scale multi media stage
production slated to be staged in early 2017 - partially funded by a NYSCA
grant and other sources.

3rd PRODUCTION - a documentary FILM “Jewel of the Airs” is being planned to
occur simultaneously to these productions and will explore the remarkable
life of Ms. Izetta Jewel (1883 -1978). It is hoped that the actress cast
here will be able to carry through the roles in all the productions and be
available for dramatizations and re-enactments planned for this production.

There will be compensation that will increase over the course of the
productions as the year goes on and additional funds are raised. A local
actress (Capital Region) who feels they can commit the time (within reason)
to portray and help tell this remarkables woman’s story is of course
prefered.
