Creative Action Unlimited announces auditions for SRO: Single Room Occupancy
Monday August 8 at 7:00 pm
Creative Action Unlimited office, lower level, 6 Greenwood Dr, East
Greenbush. (Rehearsals will also be at this location.)

Please arrive between 6:45 - 7:00 to sign in, and be prepared to list any
schedule conflicts. Rehearsal schedule in August/September will be based on
actors' availability. There is no need to prepare material; auditions will
consist of readings from the script.

Set in a single room occupancy for women located in downtown Albany, this
original script by Michael Kennedy follows three residents as they struggle
to avoid homelessness, keep the support they receive and work toward
improving their daily lives. SRO will be directed by Michael Kennedy and
performed at the Albany Barn, 56 Second St, Albany on October 21 and 22,
2016.

Roles are available for three women:

Amy (20s, White) - newest SRO resident, medical disability, a problem
solver who's learning the system

Rachel (30-70, Black/Latina) - a poetic pragmatist, observant,
self-contained

Andrea (30-70, any ethnicity) - mentally ill but stable enough for the SRO,
wanting human connection but not sure what to do when she gets it

SRO: Single Room Occupancy is the recipient of a Community Arts Award as
part of the Breathing Lights project. (http://www.breathinglights.com/).
Actors will receive a very small stipend for their work.
