Synopsis: Based on the 1957 movie by the same name, The Sweet Smell of Success tells the story of J.J. Hunsecker who rules it all with his daily gossip column in the New York Globe, syndicated to sixty million readers across America. J.J. has the goods on everyone, from the president to the latest starlet. And everyone feeds J.J.'s scandal, from J. Edgar Hoover and Senator Joe McCarthy down to a battalion of hungry press agents who attached their news to a client that J.J. might plug. You can become no one if J.J. turns on you.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of a Broadway showtune for your audition. No accapella singing! An accompanist will be provided but you must provide your own sheet music in the appropriate key. Please bring or wear clothing appropriate for a dance audition. Reading from the script will happen after the dance audition.

If you cannot attend the audition dates but wish to audition, please contact the director as soon as possible, prior to the start or auditions. The production staff will do the best they can do accommodate requests, but only those made prior to auditions.

Rehearsals will begin in early/mid-August and the rehearsal schedule will be developed around conflicts presented at the auditions. Please come with a complete list of conflicts. You need to be available for Tech week rehearsals (October 15-20. 2016).
