Town Players of Pittsfield announces auditions for  "Other Desert Cities' by Jon Robin Bates, directed by Kevin Paul Wixsom. This is Town Players'  first fully staged play of its 96th season. 


Auditions are being held on July 12 and 13 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm  at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield. There are five actors needed, three women and two men, between the ages of 30 and 60.


Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award, this play brings us an emotionally charged story about a family coming to terms with long held secrets. When a once promising novelist returns home to visit her parents, conflict ensues after she announces the imminent publication of her memoir, a book that focuses on the politically explosive and tragic death of her anti-war activist brother.  While her parents try to cling to their Reaganesque social status, the family is torn apart and must come to grips with its painful past.


Sides from the play will be provided. This production will run for two weekends starting September 16.
