[Capdist-auditions] Audition Announcement: The Dog in the Manger

Audition announcement for The Northeast Theatre Ensemble's production of
"The Dog in the Manger" by Lope de Vega directed by Kendle Butterworth and
Janet Kimlicko.

This is a hilarious, fast-paced, Spanish Golden Age play in a fresh new
English translation. It tells the story of the beautiful countess Diana who
rejects her many suitors until one day she learns that her secretary,
Teodoro, has fallen in love with one of her maids. A comedy of love
triangles, disguises, crafty servants, and clever ploys ensues. We are
seeking actors who are energetic, cooperative, and eager to play with this
lively comedy.

Casting: 10 actors, ages 20-60, male and female. Cross-gender casting will
be considered for those that fit the right voice in the story!

Auditions: Sunday, April 3rd and Monday, April 4th at Steamer 10 Theatre in
Albany, NY. Sign in at 7:00 pm, auditions 7:30-9:00. Bring a headshot (if
you have one) and a resume. No monologue preparation required; we will be
reading selections from the play.

Rehearsal Dates: Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays in May.

Production Dates: First three weekend of June. Fridays and Saturdays 8 pm,
Sundays 3 pm at the Steamer 10 Theatre in Albany.
