Hello all,
This is a final casting call for Extras in the upcoming production of THE
COMMON REACTOR, a short film by local filmmaker Steve Cifarelli. The
project is a two-day shoot that was initially scheduled for this upcoming
Saturday and Sunday, but due to current weather forecasts, will likely be
rescheduled for the second weekend in July.
This is a NON-PAYING and NON-UNION project, but food & drink will be
provided the day of the shoot. Shooting locations will be a coffee shop and
a section of Jay Street in Schenectady, NY. Anyone interested in playing an

Synopsis:
Tall, confident, and recently graduated from a prestigious liberal arts
college, Ethan Strauss believes he's found his intellectual equal in Emma,
a visceral, soft-spoken girl of backwoods origins with affinities for
Kerouac and cigarettes. Ethan believes he's been waiting all his life for a
girl like Emma, but when he meets her for coffee late one afternoon,
something's not quite right. Dressed in the bleak shadows of a sinking sun,
they have their drinks... they share their stories... they go for a walk...
and something heavy hangs in the air.

**CHARACTER BIOS FOR NOTABLE EXTRAS IN THE COMMON REACTOR**
[BYSTANDER] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 30-55]
A woman who cries out in horror when a homeless man collapses with a heart
attack nearby. She starts crying after the homeless man stops moving.
[BARISTA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 18-25]
A barista working at a coffee-shop. Appears in one shot watching the main
character Emma enter the shop, and appears in another texting on her phone
in the background.
[BOYFRIEND (Background Couple)] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 18-25]
A couple chats in the background of the main characters' date. This is the
role of the boyfriend who takes a picture with his phone and laughs.

role of the girlfriend who takes laughs when her boyfriend takes a picture
of a homeless man out the window with his smartphone.

outside the coffee shop when Ethan and Emma are standing outside.

Also, when a homeless man suffers a dramatic heart-attack, extras on the
street will crowd around him.
