OK Broads …. here’s theopportunity you’ve been waiting for!!!!!
Auditions for Taffeta Memories, produced by the Villageof Colonie, to be held March 28 and 29. This production will be performed outdoors atthe beautiful Frank A. Leak Amphitheater for the Arts, June 15-18.
Directed by Michael Mensching.
Cast Needed: 4* Women who canact, sing harmony and beable to move and do physical comedy well.
*4 female singers age 50-65+ (must have the ability todo/learn some simple dancing and movement, and hold harmony withoutdifficulty). We are also looking for all ethnicities and bodytypes. You must be comfortable with your body type as you will be comparedto the way you looked 40-50 years ago and you may be doing physical comedy.
This is a musical comedyfeaturing The Taffetas-- Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna – four singing sistersfrom Muncie, Indiana who in the 1950’s were the talk of the town. Now almost 50years later, they are putting on a reunion show. Take a walk down memory lanewith them in this nostalgic musical.
Please bring sheet music for a songthat you love to sing. A song from a musical comedy would be great, a song fromthe era of the music of the ‘50’s or early ‘60’s even better—NOT from TaffetaMemories. Bring 2 or 3 possibilities. Pleaselimit your selection to approx. 2-3 minutes (a partial song is fine). Anaccompanist will be provided. No a capella singing.
Please do not audition if you are not age appropriate. No offense but veteranactresses have spent the last 10 or 20 years losing parts to theingénues. It’s their turn now!!! Yours will come later for thisone.
