NYC Actor to Teach HMT's Summer Programs for Children, Teens & Adults


 

Home Made Theater is pleased to announce their 19th summer of programming
for students ages 8 through adult. All classes will be taught by returning
instructor NYC actor/director Paul Sigrist.        HMT's summer classes are
an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to use their creativity
and talents during summer vacation, while building their self-esteem and
confidence in a nurturing and supportive environment.  

Paul Sigrist, a member of the performing unions SAG-AFTRA and AEA, is a New
York-based professional actor, singer and director equally at home in
theater, television and film. He was a member of the seven-actor cast
nominated for a Drama Desk Award for "Outstanding Revival of a Musical" for
the Vortex Theater's revival of H.M.S. Pinafore. He spent 19 consecutive
seasons with the professional repertory company The New York Gilbert and
Sullivan Players as an actor in Off-Broadway productions in New York and on
tour throughout the U.S., Canada and England. On television, he has worked
as an additional actor in over 60 episodes of Saturday Night Live, as well
as portraying one of the new cult members throughout season two of The Path
on Hulu. He was hand-picked by director Adam McKay for a cameo as a clueless
tourist in the award-winning film The Big Short. Locally, he has directed
shows for Hubbard Hall Opera Theater in Cambridge, the former Opera Saratoga
Summer Intensive, and has been the summer instructor for HMT since 2011.

Space is currently available in all classes though enrollment is limited.
Classes include the popular Improvisation and Shakespeare for younger
students, along with a new full day one week Scenes from Great Musicals
course, with accompanist and musical director Valerie Lord. Classes for ages
16 to adult include the new one day Adult Acting Intensive, and Adult Scene
Study with Great American and British Plays. Also offered is the return of
the highly popular Improvisation for Adults. Registrations will be accepted
in the order in which they are received and payment is due at the time of
