[Steamer No.10 Theatre]

Steamer No.10 Theatre is seeking a young looking (pass for high school) 
actor - male or female - for the paid, non-union, role of the student in 
_Clinton's Ditch - Saga of the Erie Canal_.  Singing skills are 
preferred, but not required. The show rehearses during the day - 
weekdays, and tours to schools in May and June with the occasional tours 
to Canal Festivals in the Summer and Fall.

*Clinton’s Ditch *is an hour-long production with music, that brings 200 
years of Erie Canal history to life. It covers the need for a canal, 
debate over building it, construction, opening celebration, and life on 
the canal.The show explores the waterway that opened the American West 
to trade and settlement, securing New York City’s position as dominate 
port-of-entry and financial capital.

Clinton’s Ditch is designed to work with NYS Ed. curriculum on Erie 
Canal history for the 4^th & 8^th grades. The show is touted by teachers 
as an excellent review that brings the material to life. Clinton’s Ditch 
has toured New York each year for the past 20 years in May and June, 
with performances schools or the Steamer No.10 Theatre.
