*Auditions *

Monday, September 11 & Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Sign-In 7pm



The audition will consist of cold readings from the script.



*Performances *

November 3-19, 2017, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 3pm



*Rehearsals *

Begin September 18th. Rehearsals will generally be Tuesdays, Wednesdays,
Fridays 7-10 and Sundays 4-7 (but that is all subject to change, depending
on conflicts).



*Synopsis*

An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café. A stranger at the next
table who has had enough. And a dead man – with a lot of loose ends. So
begins *Dead Man's Cell Phone*, a wildly imaginative new comedy by
MacArthur Genius Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl,
author of *The Clean House *and *Eurydice*. A work about how we memorialize
the dead – and how that remembering changes us – it is the odyssey of a
woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption,
and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world.



*Characters*

A Woman, Jean – 25-40 years old

A Dead Man, Gordon – 30-45 years old

Gordon’s Mother, Mrs. Gottlieb – 60-70 years old

Gordon’s Widow, Hermia – 30-45 years old

Gordon’s Brother, Dwight – 25-40 years old

The Other Woman/The Stranger – 25-40 years old (will need some kind of
accent)
