*THE GINGERBREAD LADY* by Neil Simon

Directed by Gary Hoffmann



*Audition Dates and Times*:  May 14 and 15  (auditions begin at 7:30 pm,
sign in at 7 pm)



*Location:* Albany Civic Theater, 235 Second Ave, Albany, NY 12209  (side
entrance on Sand St.)



*Performance dates*:  September 7 – September 23, 2018



*Character Breakdown:*



Evy   (late 30's to late 40's) a cabaret singer whose career, marriage, and
health all have been destroyed by alcohol



Toby  (late 30's to early 40's) one of Evy's two best friends; Toby is
preoccupied with maintaining her Cosmo looks to keep her husband interested



Jimmy  (late 30's to mid 50's) Evy's other best friend, a homosexual actor
focused on getting his 'break'



Polly  (mid-teens) Evy's estranged daughter who comes to live with Evy once
she learns Evy is out of rehab



Lou  (mid 30's to early 40's) Evy's younger, abusive ex-lover, a struggling
musician who entices Evy to come back to him after her rehab discharge



Manuel  (late teens to early 20's) Hispanic delivery boy for a local grocer
