The Delta Xi Cast of Alpha Psi Omega – Open Calls for Stage Manager for
Fall 2018 & Producer Call Reminder

Troy, NY – April 23rd, 2018



The Delta Xi Cast of Alpha Psi Omega, the theatre honor society of
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is currently seeking a *stage manager*
for our fall production: *God of Carnage* by Yasmina Reza, translated by
Christopher Hampton. The show will open on September 20th, 21st, and 22nd,
2018. A synopsis of the show is as follows:

“A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two
sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first,
diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the
rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples
with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.”

The stage manager is the key organizer of the production team. They are the
coordinator between the technical departments and actors, and are
responsible for working with the director to schedule and document
rehearsals and ensure actors attend each one. They are in charge of a run
crew, if one is required by the set design, and call cues during shows.

Aside from the show dates, the stage manager must be available for Tech
Sunday and the following tech week (date to be determined by the producer
and director). As the event will be located on the campus of RPI, the stage
manager must be in the area during the summer months. They are not required
to be a member of Alpha Psi Omega or student, RPI or otherwise.

To apply, please submit a theatre resume and your current status in the RPI
community (professor, student, alumni, community member, etc). This call
will close on *Friday, May 4th*.



In addition, the call for *producer *of *God of Carnage* is still open
until *Friday, April 27th*. The producer is the figurehead of the
production team, and works with the director, stage manager, and Delta Xi
officers to lead the show from start to finish. They are responsible for
distributing the budget and creating the production team. Again, please
contact the officers at officers at dx.ayw.org if you are interested. Please
submit a theatre resume, a cover letter, and your current status in the RPI
community. Desirable applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview
date and time with the officers. Please be prepared to discuss your vision
for the show.
