[Capdist-auditions] Second Audition Date for "Imperfect Goddesses"

 Hello, this is a second notice of auditions for "Imperfect Goddess", the
fourth short film from Sword and Harp Productions.  We've already had one
day of auditions and were very impressed with the talented actresses who
came out.  However, there's still a second day of auditions for those
interested.

Christa and Jessica have been married several years now.  Socially and
financially stable, they seem to be quite happy.  Yet Christa is having an
affair with a young waitress.  She longs to better understand why she is
doing what she is doing.  All she knows is that something is missing from
her life.  In a world where only 8% of homosexual women cheat on their
partners, what does it mean to be in that 8%?  What does it say about the
cheater?  The spouse?  The lover?  What is missing that might drive a
person into such an affair?  “Imperfect Goddesses” tries to examine these
questions, to talk about the very real pain and emotional longing within
affairs.

With three roles to fill, filming of “Imperfect Goddesses” will take place
in September or early October, based upon the actresses’ schedules.  Ryan
Gangemi, founder of Sword and Harp will be directing the film, working
alongside producer Kate Daggett.  There are two days for auditions, listed
below, and scheduling an audition is encouraged, but not necessary.  Sides
will be provided to anyone who wishes to study them ahead of time.  Also
below, please find descriptions of the three characters being cast.

Sword and Harp Productions has produced three films to date and our first
film, “The Second Loss” is currently on the festival circuit and recently
won Best in Fest at Glens Falls’ GEM Fest.   This is an unpaid acting job,
but, as we’re a growing group of filmmakers, we hope to be able to utilize
performers again in the future (we’re hoping to build funding sources for
future productions) and all talent will be credited and made aware of any
festivals entered.

*A Note on the Film: This film opens on a post-intimacy scene in a bedroom.
For this scene, implied nudity, suggested but not actually seen, is
expected to be employed.  However, the amount and type of nudity will be
left up to the two actresses in the scene and the director working together.
No performer or crew member will be put in a place where she or he is made
to feel uncomfortable and the choices made will be strictly noted ahead of
time and adhered to on a closed set.





“IMPERFECT GODDESSES” CHARACTERS



Christa Arrow: Late 20s-Late 30s.  Any ethnicity.  Though the main
character, Christa is the least defined, physically and emotionally.  This
role calls for the actress to make strong decisions as Christa cheats on
her wife with a younger woman and is forced to try and make sense of
actions she herself doesn’t entirely understand.  She’s married to Jessica
and it has been a happy marriage, but meeting Meghan has thrown a wrench
into that.  Christa is one of the women in bed together at the beginning of
the film- please see the note above.



Meghan Moore: 18-Late 20s.  Slender, bright-eyed, Meghan can be of any
ethnicity or heritage, but the producers are looking for a unique look,
either in natural appearance or in dress, style, makeup, hair, etc.  Even
if Meghan is in her later twenties, she looks younger.  She’s possessed of
a wry, caustic wit and, at her young age, believes she knows everything.  She’s
also incredibly unsure of herself, despite showing the world at large a
façade of confident self-assuredness.  She may have gotten into her affair
with Christa out of a need for adventure, a desire to break all of
societies rules, but there is genuine attraction to the older woman now and
Meghan delights in being wanted.  Meghan is one of the women in bed
together at the beginning of the film- please see the note above.



Jessica- Late 20s-Mid 40s.  Any ethnicity, though non-Northern European
heritage is preferred.  Perfect composure.  That is the phrase that best
fits Jessica.  From head to toe, everything is in place.  She has a good
job, a lawyer, and she is the drive behind her and Christa’s social
life.  Well-educated,
she has a statistic for everything.  For her, life is about achieving
certain milestones and benchmarks.  It’s never occurred to her that, once
one of these has been achieved, it can always disappear again.
