[Capdist-auditions] Call for Adjudicator Applications at Proctors

Proctors is looking for qualified candidates to serve as adjudicators for the 2019 High School Musical Theatre Awards. The mission of The High School Musical Theatre Awards at Proctors is to celebrate, inspire and honor excellence and achievement in high school musical theatre, and to highlight the importance of musical theatre and arts education within the greater Capital Region of New York. Fashioned after Broadway’s Tony Awards, and in partnership with The Broadway League, this ceremony on May 11, 2019, will celebrate the achievements of the region’s theatre students, highlighting the importance of arts and theatre education. High School Musical Awards adjudicators will have:

-A degree in a relevant field such as music, theatre, dance, etc.
-And/or extensive work experience in one of those disciplines on a professional or academic basis
-And/or are professional artists or educators with wide knowledge of the American Musical Theatre canon
-And/or demonstrated experience in or knowledge of musical theatre

Additionally:

-Adjudicators will be given a stipend of $100 for their participation.
-Each will be trained in the adjudication process by Proctors staff.
-All candidates must possess the ability to effectively communicate in writing and evaluate production elements and student performances in a constructive manner.
-Extra attention will be paid to any professional or personal connections to area schools to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
-All adjudicators must be aware, and willing to accept, that travel up to 90 miles away from their current location may be required.
