Spring 2018 Classes

Whether your student is interested in singing, dancing, or acting, we have classes designed for multiple age ranges to inspire and challenge them this Spring!

Master Classes

Featuring Guest Faculty from your favorite Broadway Shows and National Tours in 2018, this Master Class Series provides students the opportunity to learn from Broadway professionals right here in Albany! All students ages 10-18 of any experience level are welcome to register.

Each show title will feature a two hour Master Class with a Guest Faculty member from the cast of the show. The class will culminate in an open question & answer session with the Guest Faculty, all of whom have significant experience performing on Broadway, in National Tours and with regional theatre companies throughout the country. Weekly Classes

GRADES 3-5

Performing Artist’s Workshop
Saturdays, 10:30am-Noon, January 27-April 14
In this 10-session class, students will sing, dance and act using material from their favorite musicals and TV shows! We will teach the foundations of musical theatre - expanding vocabulary and building skills - all while keeping it fun. Use your imagination, be creative and build confidence!




GRADES 6-8


Beginner/Intermediate Tap
Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, January 23-April 10
Learn the fundamentals of Musical Theatre Tap! Link individual steps into combinations while keeping clear sounds and rhythms.

Musical Theatre Dance
Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30pm, January 23-April 10
Jazz and ballet technique, strength and flexibility, technique and performance - all rolled into one!

Young Voices
Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, January 24-April 11
Get prepared for your next audition! In this group vocal class, students will learn vocal technique, basic ear training and harmonization and begin to build audition material - all in this supportive and encouraging group environment.

Acting I
Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, January 23-April 10
Learn the foundations of a variety of acting techniques - from Uta Hagen to Stanislavsky! Explore characterization and begin building a “tool belt” of tactics to improve your confidence and performance as a young actor!





GRADES 9-12


Intermediate/Advanced Tap
Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, January 24-April 11
An introduction of Rhythm Tap while continuing to work on and polish the musicality and style of Musical Theatre tap concepts.

Ballet
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, January 24-April 11
Strengthen body and core, learn proper alignment, and develop strong ballet technique that will be essential to all other dance techniques!

Jazz
Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30pm, January 24-April 11
Building on concepts from Musical Theatre Dance, this class is an ideal continuation for older students, especially those preparing for college auditions!

Acting II
Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, January 23-April 10
Take your tools to the next level through deeper analysis of text - at the conclusion of this 10-week course, deconstruct scenes and monologues with ease! This continued exploration of acting techniques, including Viewpoints and Meisner, will provide a leg up while preparing for community, college and professional auditions.



All weekly classes are 10-week sessions and are $250 per session. No classes the weeks of March 26 or April 2, 2018.
