1.     A short, 1-minute, fully memorized monologue

Rehearsals & Master Classes: July 23 - August 9, 2018; 9am-4pm, Mon-Fri.
Performances (on theREP’s Stage): August 9-12, 2018, Times TBD
Tuition: $750 for three weeks. Financial available.

SPECIFICALLY SEEKING:
15 to 18 young actors/actresses to form the company that will perform the five winning plays from theREP’s 2018 Young Playwright Contest:

Actors must be able to portray characters such as (but not limited too) the following:

Paul Masterson – a middle aged male film director. Paul is arrogant and thinks he’s brilliant at everything. He sees the world as his oyster and doesn’t mind abusing the system to get what he wants.

Emma Nightwing – early twenties. Emma is a young actress on a press tour for her first Leading Role/Feature Film. She’s impressionable and a bit naïve and doesn’t want to ruin her chances of being hired again. She’s trying to make it in the field that often, unjustly, asks “what will you do, have to endure, to succeed?”

Sam – six years old. Sam is a very creative and imaginative kid. He loves the Harry Potter stories and “believes” he too is a wizard. Always dressed like Harry Potter and toting his wand.

John – Sam’s older (high school aged) brother. John is very protective of Sam, and in that protective state, not very accommodating to his brother’s ‘wizard’ quirks. He wants Sam to fit in, not so that he’s like everyone else, but so that he won’t get picked on.

Arden – a ‘typical’ American teenager. Arden is constantly battling with herself with regard to societies definition of the “perfect” girl. At times vulnerable and anxious, at other times guarded.

Kappa, Lappa and Shaw – Corporate Clones. Nearly indistinguishable in every way but appearance. They are cutthroats – vicious and power hungry.

Avina Zoozle – teenager; Avina is a nervous, rule follower. She’s friendly but introverted.

Emma Mac – teenager; Emma is spunky, she’s an outgoing, determined and brave soul.

Mrs. Starburn – 30s-40s, and a teacher. Mrs. Starburn is a controlling and intimidating figure. She always has a smile, but you always know it’s fake.

Police Officer – 30s. Standard police officer.

Investigator – a woman of indistinguishable age. She’s works hard to solver her cases, can be intimidating and a bit mysterious.

Mother – a woman in her late 40s. Mother is a loving woman who can’t see that her daughter needs emotional help, in her mind, everything is good.

Waiter (or waitress) – A pretty typical waiter, cheerful and perky, and remains calm in a hyper/stressful situation. Perhaps a little bit more uptight than one would expect, given the dining establishment.

The Boyfriend – a standard boyfriend, confident in his dating abilities, and even more confident in his pun making abilities.

Doctor Rosenberg  - male or female in their 20s. Slightly eccentric time travel inventor.

Teenagers – additional teenagers filling the myriad descriptions a teenager could fill.

Students of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to audition. All roles are open.
