Curtain Call Theatre (Latham, NY) will be holding auditions for

“A COMEDY OF TENORS”

Auditions:

·         Monday – May 21, 2018 – 7:00 PM
·         Tuesday – May 22, 2018 – 7:00 PM

Location:

·         Curtain Call Theatre – 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham,  NY 12110

Rehearsals:

·         Begin mid-October 2018
·         Sunday – Wednesday evenings (4-5 times per week)

Performances:

·         November 29 – December 31, 2018
·         Thursday at 7:30 PM
·         Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM
·         Sunday at 3:00 PM
·         One Saturday matinee at 3:00 PM on December 8, 2018

Show Description:

A Comedy of Tenors is a classic, door-slamming farce set in the opera world of 1930s Paris.  It is filled with comic misunderstandings, bedroom hijinks and face-slapping hilarity.  Ken Ludwig's sequel to Lend Me a Tenor is a stand-alone uproarious ride about an Opera producer trying in desperation to put on the "Concert of the Century".

Available Roles:

Henry Saunders - 50s.  Opera impresario trying in vain to corral the three greatest tenors in the world.  Dealing with wives, girlfriends and situations he never anticipated, the situation gets away from him as this short-tempered producer quickly loses all control.

Max - 30s.  Saunders' one time, long suffering assistant is now an opera singer himself.  Max gets quickly drawn back into the frantic backstage shenanigans.

Tito Merelli/Beppo - Late 40s.  Dual role.  Both with heavy Italian accent.  TITO was once the world's greatest tenor whose star is starting to fade.  VERY temperamental.  BEPPO is a hotel bellhop with an uncanny resemblance to Tito who also happens to posses a great opera voice.  Beppo is enlisted to fill in for Tito after he quits the concert.  

Maria - Late 40s.  Heavy Italian accent.  Tito's fiery, hot-blooded yet devoted wife.  A beautiful and great woman who is growing frustrated with Tito's moods.

Mimi - 25.  The Merelli's daughter, raised in America so NO ACCENT.  Wants to be an actress and having a passionate love affair with Carlo.

Carlo Nucci - late 20s.  Newest and hottest Opera Star.  He is a fine and talented young man who can be just as temperamental as Tito.

Racon - early 30s.  Heavy Russian accent.  Ravishingly beautiful (and, of course, temperamental) opera star.  An old lover of Tito's.
