"Perform. Transform." on September 22 in Albany

Are you a theatre educator? Do you know someone who guides others through theatre, whether professionally or as an avocation? Are you looking to brush up your own knowledge of the best in theatre techniques and practices?

The Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) encourages all who are interested in honing their theatrical knowledge to attend Dramatic Arts Professional Development 2018, hosted by the New York State Theatre Education Association (NYSTEA). It's a full day of interdisciplinary education through theatre expertise (fee based), with workshops, speakers and networking.

The event will feature a workshop by TANYS's own Paul Nelson, "Inspiring Excellence in Your Theatre Community." Paul will address the TANYS approach to adjudication, and discuss how the adjudication process allows all members of a theatre company to learn and grow.

Paul Nelson is VP of Adjudication Services for TANYS, and has been adjudicating in New York State for more than 22 years. An award-winning actor and director, he has also served as an adjudicator for multiple statewide and regional festivals, as well as for the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) National Festival. Read Paul's full bio here.

The NYSTEA event takes place September 22, 2018 from 9:30am-3:30pm at the Capital Region BOCES, 900 Watervliet Shaker Road, Albany. Educators will earn 4 hours of certified professional development credit.
