*ALTAR BOYZ is a foot-stomping, rafter-raising, musical comedy about a
fictitious Christian boy-band on the last leg of their national 'Raise the
Praise' tour. The Boyz are five all-singing, all-dancing heartthrobs from
Ohio: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham. As they perform and develop a
rapport with the audience, the Boyz question their loyalty to each other
and ask whether or not it’s faith that is really holding them together.
They finally deliver a message of unity – that 'there is no star as bright
as its constellation, no harmony in a single voice.'*

*Join the Boyz in their quest to “unburden the soul” through song and
laughter!*

*Auditions:  September 24-25, 2018 *-
*sign in at 6:30; auditions  at 7 *

*Albany Civic Theater 235 Second Ave, Albany, NY 12209*

*Auditions will consist of dance/movement, script reads and music. *
*Prepare 16 to 32 bars of a musical theatre OR pop song (Boy Band songs are
accepted and encouraged).   Sheet music is required. No A Cappella
auditions accepted.  An accompanist will be provided. * Note:  May be asked
to beatbox*

*CHARACTERS*

·       *Matthew (**Tenor**) — **The super handsome leader of the group**;
must have a solid B4 and developed falsetto; Matthew’s solo song is
“Something About You”*
·       *Mark (**Tenor**) — **A sensitive young man who loves Matthew**;
must have a solid C5, prefer range up to an F5; Mark's solo song is
"Epiphany"*
·       *Luke (**Tenor**) — **The bad boy of the group**; must have a solid
A4; a James Brown-esque wail up to an E5 would be a huge plus as well;
Luke’s solo song is "Body, Mind, and Soul"*
·       *Juan (**Tenor**) — **The 'Latin lover' with a passion for
beautiful women;* *must have a solid A4; Juan's solo song is "La Vida
Eternal"*

 ·       *Abraham (**Tenor**)* *— **The nice Jewish boy who loves
hip-hop; **must
have a solid A4 and developed falsetto; Abraham’s solo song is “Everybody
Fits*
