“BROADWAY BOUND”

Monday – April 22, 2019 – 7:00 PM

Rehearsals:
 
Begin early August 2019
Sunday – Wednesday evenings (4-5 times per week)

Performances:
 
September 5 - 28, 2019
Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM, & Sunday at 3:00 PM
One Saturday matinee at 3:00 PM on September 14, 2019.

Show Description:

Part three of Neil Simon's acclaimed autobiographical trilogy finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into the world of show business as professional comedy writers while coping with their parent’s break-up and eventual divorce. When their material is broadcast on the radio for the first time, the family is upset to hear a thinly-veiled portrait of themselves played for laughs.

Available Roles:

Eugene Morris Jerome / Male / Age 23
 
The play's narrator - carefree, witty to a fault, and quick to joke.  He is working in the stock room of a music company. While he maintains his affable and seemingly care-free nature, he cares deeply about everyone in his family, especially for his parents - whom he bases the ridiculous characters of his first big comedy sketch on.
 
Stanley Jerome / Male / Age 28
 
Eugene's older brother - he is neurotic, high-strung, and constantly obsessing and worrying over the details. He brokers the first opportunity for he and his brother to show their material to NBC Studios and co-writes the sketch with his brother; the two constantly bicker and play as they attempt to write their first big comedy sketch.
 
Blanche Morton / Female / Age 45-55
Eugene and Stanley’s (now) well-to-do aunt.  Since Brighton Beach Memoirs, she has remarried, moved to Park Avenue and is used to the finer things in life. 
 
All other roles have been cast.
