Roles Available:

John Keller: a middle-aged factory owner of working-class background. He is
a plain, inarticulate man with a certain peasant shrewdness. His values are
simple

Kate Keller: the fiftyish wife of Joe Keller. She superstitiously clings to
the hope that her son Larry, who disappeared during the war and is assumed
to be dead, will return.

Chris Keller: Joe’s thirty-two-year-old, sensitive, and intellectual son. He
works for his father’s company, which someday will be his. A World War II
veteran whose combat experience has left him with a strong sense of
responsibility for others, he is an idealist, though rather naïve.

Ann Deever: the attractive, twenty-six-year-old daughter of Joe’s former
partner and neighbor, Steve Deever, whom she has not seen since his
imprisonment.

George Deever: the brother of Ann and the son of Steve Deever. He grew up as
the Kellers' neighbor before his father was imprisoned for selling faulty
goods to the military.

Dr. Jim Bayliss: an old friend and neighbor of Joe Keller. A physician, he
is nearly forty years old. He is described as having a “wry humor” tinged
with sadness. It transpires that he always cherished a dream of doing
medical research, but turned his back on it to make money in order to
placate his wife, Sue.

Sue Bayliss: A bitter, avaricious, and blunt-spoken woman, she was
instrumental in persuading her husband not to pursue his dream of doing
medical research and to make money to support her and their family instead.

Frank Lubey: a well-meaning but opinionated neighbor of Joe Keller. A strong
believer in astrology

Lydia Lubey: Frank’s cheerful wife, a laughing girl of twenty-seven.

Bert: Bert is a young boy who lives near the Keller’s and who likes to play
“jail” in Joe’s yard.
