WAM THEATRE ANNOUNCES AEA AUDITIONS FOR THE 2019 10th ANNIVERSARY SEASON





LENOX, MA (February 11, 2019) — WAM Theatre will hold Equity Principal
Auditions for our 2019 Season on March 1 and 2, 2019. Auditions will be
hosted by Talya Kingston, Associate Artistic Director, and Artistic
Director, Kristen van Ginhoven.



WAM Theatre’s 2019 Season includes two full productions (LADY RANDY in
April-May, and PIPELINE in October-November) and two rehearsed play
readings (NATIVE GARDENS May 3-4, and PARADISE November 1-2). All these
performances will take place at Shakespeare & Company’s Elayne P. Bernstein
Theatre in Lenox, MA.



WAM Theatre is casting for our Fall production of PIPELINE by Dominique
Morisseau, as well as for two Fresh Takes play readings. LADY RANDY is
cast. WAM Theatre works under an AEA Small Professional Theatre Contract.
For the Fresh Takes Play Readings, WAM uses the AEA Staged Reading
Contract.



Auditions: Friday March 1st: noon-8pm & Saturday March 2nd: 1pm-9pm BY
APPOINTMENT ONLY. E-mail Talya Kingston, at talya at wamtheatre.com to set up
an appointment.

Where: WAM's Office, 56 Church Street, Lenox, MA (on the second floor above
Bistro Zinc).  Free parking is available in the lot behind our office.
Please use the blue WAM Theatre door on the left side of the building in
the front.

Prepare: 1-2 minute contemporary monologue, may also be asked to read sides.



PIPELINE will run October 25-November 3, with rehearsals beginning on
October 1st. NATIVE GARDENS will rehearse for 6 hours on May 3rd and then
perform at 3pm on May 4th.  PARADISE will rehearse for 6 hours on November
1st and then perform at 3pm on November 2nd.



AEA members may request an appointment by emailing WAM Associate Artistic
Director, Talya Kingston, at talya at wamtheatre.com with 2019 Season
Auditions in the subject line. Please indicate any time limitations
otherwise you will be assigned the first available slot. Deadline to submit
is February 26. All AEA actors who request an appointment will receive an
appointment until slots are filled. Additionally, AEA actors may be seen as
walk-ins on the day of if time permits.



Performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as
performers with disabilities, are encouraged to audition.  Due to the plays
we have slotted, we are particularly reaching out to African-American,
black and Latinx actors.

This is an Equity audition call. Non-Equity actors will be seen as time
permits and should submit a photo and resume and indicate their non-union
status in their request.

Omari - black man, late teens. high school student. Nya’s son.

Jasmine - black or Latina woman, late teens. high school student. Omari’s
friend.

Xavier - black man, mid-late 30s. Marketing Exec. Nya’s ex-husband, Omari’s
father.

Laurie - white woman, 50s. public high school teacher.

Dun - black man, early-mid 30s. public high school security guard. Role is
Cast.

NATIVE GARDENS by Karen Zacarias (Reading)

Tania Del Valle - 29 years old, Latina woman. Pablo’s wife. pregnant.

Pablo Del Valle - 31 years old, Latino man. Tania’s husband.

Virginia Butley - 55-65 years old. white. Frank’s wife - Role is Cast.

Frank Butley - 55-65 years old, white. Virgina’s husband.

PARADISE by Laura Maria Censabella (Reading)

Dr. Guy Royston - 40s, white, male, high school teacher with a strong rural
Virginian accent.

ABOUT WAM THEATRE
