Auditions for 

DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Audition Dates and Times:
Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21 at 7:00 pm
      Sign in begins at 6:30 pm 
Call Backs (by invitation): Wednesday, May 22

THIS IS AN ADULT PRODUCTION. Auditioners must be 16 years or older. (We will consider someone younger for Chip.)

Location: 
The Storefront
Village Square, 19 Clifton County Road, Clifton Park
Two doors down from Toys R Us

Performance Dates:
July 19-21 and 25-28
All performances will be at 8:00 pm at The Clifton Park Common Stage

Rehearsals: 
Monday, Wednesday, Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Other dates may be considered based on conflicts. The read-through is currently scheduled for 5/24, with rehearsals starting on 5/29.

Those auditioning should prepare 16 to 32 bars of music from a Broadway show. An accompanist will be provided but you must provide your own sheet music in the appropriate key. No accapella singing! There will be a dance audition. Everyone should be prepared to dance, so please dress accordingly. PLEASE BRING A COMPLETE LIST OF CONFLICTS TO THE AUDITION.

Character Breakdown
(Note: Age ranges are a guideline.)

Belle
A vibrant, intelligent girl with beauty, who wants more out of life than an ordinary existence. She is optimistic, fun-loving, caring, and eager to experience live. Age: 20 to 25. Vocal range: E3 to F5.

Beast
A Prince transformed into a terrifying beast for his lack of compassion. He is hot-tempered and commanding, but has a warm, loving heart buried far beneath his gruff exterior. Age: 30 to 40. Vocal range: A2 to F4.

Gaston
The egotistical, ultra-masculine villain determined to marry Belle. He is manipulative yet charming and earnest. Age: 30 to 40. Vocal range: A2 to E4.

Maurice
Belle’s loving, eccentric father. A child at heart and inventor in his own world. Age: 55 to 65. Vocal range: Bb2 to Db4.

Cogsworth
A tightly-wound, enchanted mantle clock and the head of the Beast’s household. He is uptight, strict, and punctual but also hard-working, faithful, and thorough. Age: 40 to 55. Vocal range: A2 to E4.

Mrs. Potts
A warm-hearted, maternal enchanted teapot. She is loyal, caring, and playful. Age: 45 to 55. Vocal range: F#3 to G5.

Lumiere
A suave, debonair enchanted candelabra. He is a loyal and steadfast servant. Age: 35 to 45. Vocal range: F#2 to F#4.

Chip
An enchanted teacup and Mrs. Potts’ darling child who is innocent, playful, and bright-eyed. Age: 7 to 10. (We are looking for someone to play a child, not necessarily someone in this age range.) Vocal range A3 to F5.

Babette
A saucy, enchanted feather-duster, and the object of Lumiere’s affection. She is the playful, gorgeous, seductive French maid. Age: 25 to 35. Vocal range: C4 to F5.
Madame De La Grande Bouche
A former opera diva-turned-enchanted wardrobe. She has a caring, refined, larger than life personality. Age: 40 to 55. Vocal range: C#4 to D5.
Lefou
Gaston’s bumbling sidekick. He is loyal, energetic, and optimistic, but not quite the brightest guy. Age: 25 to 35. Vocal range: B2 to F#4.
Monsieur D’arque
The scheming proprietor of the local insane asylum, He is a dark, sinister villain who aides Gaston in his plot to marry Belle. Age: 35 to 45. Vocal range: D3 to A4.
Ensemble
Wolves, Enchanted Objects, Townspeople.
