LA TRANSIZIONE (The Transaction)


Produced by Logan Rando and directed by Lora Lee Ecobelli. This is a period piece set in 1893 about three Italian sisters who come to America for arranged marriages. Each sister has a unique experience. The film uses no dialogue and will instead convey it's themes through powerful performances and cinematography.


Seeking union and non-union talent (Producer applying for SAG deferment). Looking for strong actors who can portray powerful emotions.


To be filmed in the capital district this Spring (2-3 shoot days)

Character Breakdown:


Josephina (17-25) Italian heritage. Dark hair and eyes. She is matronly for her age and watches over her two younger siblings like a hawk.


Emelina (15-20) Italian heritage Dark hair and eyes. She has a facial disfigurement that will be created with make-up. Emelina wears a veil covering most of her face and she is always self-consciously twiddling with the cloth.


Maria (13-18) Italian heritage. Dark hair and eyes. She is the youngest sister. She has large expressive eyes that seem to take everything in deeply.


Immigrant Mother (25-35) Can be of any ethnicity from Central Europe. Has a powerful confrontation with an immigration officer after her child is singled out for deportation.


Immigrant girl -(7-10) The child of the mother above. Any ethnicity from Central Europe. She is suffering from measles. She is pulled away from her mother in a dramatic scene.


German boy (5-7) Blond. Fidgety, suffering from a fever.


Ricardo (60’s) Italian heritage. Prearranged suitor for young Maria. Kindly with expressive face.


Also seeking extras. Looking for actors who can portray various ethnicities from Central Europe. People of all ages, shapes and sizes.
