Photo/Resume Request for THE LETTERS and THE MOORS at Bridge Street Theatre
in Catskill
Contract Type: Special Appearance
Contract Salary: $254/wk (non-AEA receives a stipend of $200/wk)
Seeking: Photo and resume submissions from AEA, EMC, and non-AEA actors for
the first two plays in Bridge Street Theatre's 2019 Season.
Casting:
THE LETTERS by David Zellnik (world premiere)
First rehearsal: April 9
Opening: April 25
Closing: May 5
THE MOORS by Jen Silverman
First rehearsal: May 14
Opening: May 30
Closing June 9
Performance schedule is Thursday-Saturday evenings at 7:30pm and Sunday
matinees at 2:00pm, with "Pay What You Will" performances on the first
Thursday and Sunday of each run.
Character Breakdown:
THE LETTERS
directed by John Sowle
Seeking:
Rachel - age 34, also 22. A linguist. Highly intelligent, self-confident, a
bit of a smartass. She and Rajiv have been engaged to be married for a long
time.
Laura - Age 22. Intern at a successful advertising agency. Young, empathic,
very self-possessed, poised and ready to launch into her adult life.

THE MOORS
directed by Tracy Liz Miller
Seeking:
Agatha - Elder spinster sister. Spidery. Dangerous. Powerful.
Huldey - Younger spinster sister. She keeps a diary. She wants to be famous.
Emilie - The governess. A romantic with a sweet face.
Marjory - The scullery maid. Also the parlor maid. Down-trodden.
Consumptive. Strategic.
The Mastiff - The Dog. A sad philosopher king.
A Moor Hen - A small chicken. Accident-prone. Practical and very present
tense.
Casting is best when diverse. Bridge Street Theatre encourages performers
of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with
disabilities, to submit.
For consideration, please email picture and resume ASAP to
casting at bridgest.org with the subject line "BST 2019 Appointment
Submission". Individual submissions only; no agent submissions, please.
Those selected to audition will be contacted for an appointment and
provided with sides to prepare, a location, and an audition time. Auditions
will be held in both Catskill (February 10) and NYC (February 12) - when
you submit, please specify your preferred audition location. Bridge Street
Theatre is located in Catskill, NY, a two-hour drive north of Manhattan and
about an hour south of Albany. All rehearsals and performances will take
place in Catskill.
No work weeks will accrue for either EMC points or Health insurance.
Housing and one-time round-trip transportation is available to artists from
outside a 50-mile radius of Catskill.
