*Classic Theater Guild, Inc. announces open auditions for all parts in
Tennessee Williams "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".*

**** Especially interested in actors to audition for roles of Brick and
Maggie ****


*Performance dates expected June 14 - 16 and June 21 - 23. Actors must be
available for rehearsals from April 1 through strike.*

*AUDITION DATES:*

*March 24 - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm*
*March 25 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm -  * NEW **

*LOCATION:*
2195 Eastern Pkwy, Schenectady NY 12309 at Congregation Beth Israel
(parking at Union St entrance).

*** Audition will not require monologue preparation. We will read from
sides and monologues from the script. ***

*THE STORY:* In a plantation house, a family celebrates the sixty-fifth
birthday of Big Daddy.  The mood is somber, despite the festivities,
because a number of evils poison the gaiety: greed, sins of the past and
desperate, clawing hopes for the future spar with one another as the
knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. Maggie, Big
Daddy's daughter-in-law, wants to give him the news that she's finally
become pregnant by Big Daddy's favorite son, Brick. Swarming around Maggie
and the alcoholic Brick are their intrusive, conniving relatives, all eager
to see Maggie put in her place and Brick tumbled from his position of
most-beloved son.

*MAIN CHARACTERS:*
*Margaret *- "Maggie the Cat" - 25 - 35, Fit, attractive and sensual. Must
be comfortable performing in slip undergarment.

*Brick  *- Maggie's husband, and son of Big Daddy. Age 25 - 35, attractive,
former football player physique, just starting to "go soft" from too much
alcohol. Must be comfortable performing shirtless.

*Big Daddy*  - Brick's father. Age 55- 70. Commanding presence and voice.

*Big Mama *- Brick's mother. Age 45 - 70. Doting mother and wife.

*Mae  *- Married to Gooper, Bricks brother. Mother of numerous children.
Age 30 - 45.

*Gooper  *- Bricks older brother. A successful corporate lawyer.

*Reverend Tooker* - An opportunistic guest at Big Daddy's birthday party.

*Doctor Baugh* - Big Daddy's physician.

*Update: We are not auditioning for children and servants parts at this
time.*
