	In the final scene of Ibsen’s 1879 groundbreaking masterwork, Nora
Helmer makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children,
and begin a life on her own. This climactic event—when Nora slams
the door on everything in her life—instantly propelled world drama
into the modern age. In A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2, many years have
passed since Nora’s exit. Now, there’s a knock on that same door.
Nora has returned. But why? And what will it mean for those she left
behind? 

	​AVAILABLE ROLES: 

	NORA HELMER- 50s; Left her husband and children fifteen years ago.
She has become a successful author and is fiercely independent. She
takes great pride in her autonomy. 

	TORVALD HELMER- 50s; Nora’s estranged husband; mild-mannered,
measured and reserved. He keeps his feelings and emotions close to the
vest, though he has many to hide.

	ANNE MARIE- 60s; The Torvald’s nanny who continues to work in the
house. She is honest, blunt, big-hearted, funny, tough, but worn down.
She tries to keep the waters calm for everyone’s sanity, but
struggles with her fundamental disagreements with Nora’s choices.

	EMMY-18-24; The Torvald’s daughter. She is an old soul and a
romantic; Wise and mature in some ways, but still a teenager. In spite
of her mother’s leaving, Emmy is perfectly well-adjusted.
