[Capdist-auditions] Auditions for Santa's Magical Express: October 9 in Rensselaer at Yankee Trails Main Location

Yankee Trails World Travel will host Auditionsfor Santa's Magical Express, Wednesday,  October 9 at the Yankee Trails main office 569 3rd Avenue Extension,Rensselaer, NY 12144. This successful holiday production is now in its seventhyear of entertaining thousands of children and their families in a multimediaand live holiday production that offers a unique holiday entertainmentexperience for the Capital Region. 

We are looking for actors to fill variousroles.  Males and actors of ethnicity arestrongly encouraged to audition.  Allauditioners must be 18 years old or older. There are a variety of singing andnon-singing roles in this production. There will be an option to work fulltime-- every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday -- or part time (1 or 2 daysa week) . All actors must be available to work all or parts of every weekendfrom November 22nd to December 23.  Allactors must have their own transportation to the performance venues in EastGreenbush. Actors will be under contract and will be paid upon successfulcompletion of their contracted term. Actors demonstrating the proper enthusiasmand holiday spirit will be invited to return for this annual holidayproduction. 

Auditions will be held at the Yankee Trails mainoffice 569 3rd Avenue Extension, Rensselaer, NY 12144, Wednesday October9, with a sign-in at 6:00pm and auditions running from 6:30 to 9pm. Roles: 

Santa;Adult Male; Beard and costume provided.  Strong knowledge of ChristmasFolklore, current childrens' fads/toys, improv with direct personalinteractions with the guests. Must have a fun personality to carry the personaof the big man himself.  

Mrs. Santa Claus; Adult Female; the lead role for the production. Must beenergetic, able to command attention, good at improv and ability to be warm andentertaining for children and adults.  Must be physically fit to be ableto stand for long periods of time on a moving bus.

 Elves;Male and Female (some must sing) Actors auditioning for these roles shouldprepare 16 bars of a song to sing a cappella which showcases an ability to actas well as sing. Should be energetic and able to work well with children.

 Jack Frost; Adult Male; Nemesis to Santa, wants to cancel Christmas.  Character Actorwith ability to improv, a lot of interaction with small children. 

 Scrooge;Adult Male (able to be aged); After his visit from the Christmas Ghosts,changes his way and leaves the Banking business to pursue his career as astand-up comedian.  Great Comedic Timing, ability to improv, rappingrequired. 

 Winky;Adult Male; Head Elf of the North Pole, Energetic actor with good comedicskills.  Will sing along with a track, singing ability is not required.Physically able to entertain the crowd on a moving bus.

 Frosty;Costumed Character; comes to life and dances with the Children.
