STAGE MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
Proctors Collaborative is the Capital District’s leading regional arts organization with performing arts venues in Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga, and education, civic engagement and economic development initiatives throughout the region. We’re changing expectations about how the arts serve a community.
The School of the Performing Arts at Proctors is seeking an experienced stage manager for the summer of 2021 Broadway Camp mainstage musical production.  Broadway Camp consists of classes, workshops and rehearsal and will be performed with a student orchestra, cast and crew of 40 high school students from throughout the Capital Region. All creative and production staff share the responsibility of working with students, providing training in their area of expertise as they work collaboratively on the show.
RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  *   Stage Manager experience
  *   Experience with large full-scale musicals
  *   Experience with large cast
  *   Multi-tasking and creating schedules
  *   Coordination and running of rehearsals
  *   Cueing and calling performances (Lights, Sound, Follow spots, fly system)
  *   Coordinating crews working with a combination of theater professionals from Proctors and the integration of students from ages 14-19 with a broad range of skill levels.
  *   Assist with Interns as needed
  *   Ideal, but not necessary, teaching artist experience.
  *   BA in Theatre/Stage Management or equivalent experience or earning degree.


CONTRACT PERIOD:

  *   This is a five-week full-time commitment commencing on June 28 and ending July 31 (4th of July, Day off).
  *   Must be available from June 28 to July 31, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  *   Program runs July 5 to July 31.
  *   Pre-production meetings as required in person or via phone or conference call.
  *   Performances on July 30 and July 31 (Friday at 7 pm, and Saturday at 2 pm and 7 pm).


PAY RATE: Stipend $2,500

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:


     *   Passion for theatre.
     *   Leadership and problem solving skills.
     *   Be dependable, flexible and responsible.
     *   Be extremely well organized.
     *   Computer skills in Word and Excel.
     *   Experience in arts/directing/theatre environment.
     *   Experience working with youth.
     *   Experience with a range of theatre games and activities
     *   Ability to keep students engaged and motivated.
     *   Experience in collaborating with creative people.
     *   Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
     *   High level of self-motivation.
     *   An understanding of the theatre making process and the challenges and demands of a creating theatre - be able to change direction of day in a minutes notice.
     *   Be able to relate well and work with people of all abilities.


ASSISTANT DIRECTOR DUTIES:

     *   Assist with all aspects of mounting full production
     *   Scheduling
     *   Create show binders and maintain updates.
     *   Rehearsal space coordination with stage management and Proctors staff.
     *   Work closely with stage management for any updates in production.
     *   Attend all creative meetings.
     *   Assist in morning “Studio Class.”
     *   Lead rehearsals as needed.
     *   Communication with departments as necessary including staff at Proctors and TheREP.
     *   Track blocking.
     *   Updated script as needed.
     *   Take notes as needed for meetings.
     *   Distribution of notes to actors and departments.
     *   Review daily rehearsal reports.
     *   Report incidents concerning safety and well-being of students to Director and Stage Manager.
ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR DUTIES:

     *   Plan, coordinate and teach break out and recreational arts.
     *   Activities may include but are not limited to: team building,  improv workshops or theatre games
