 A PERFORMANCE ART EVENT PRESENTING AN ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE TV SHOW…
Performers of all kinds, standup, magicians, song and dance acts, trained seals, you tell us—we need YOU for PITCH NIGHT AT THE MOPCO!

Please reply with your details, a pic and resume if you have one, and a brief proposal—simply stating what you want to do, and with whom, if you are part of an act. 


This  will be the first of what we hope will become a regular, bi-monthly event at the theatre. 
PITCH NIGHT will be a somewhat tongue-in-cheek live take on one of those TV-who’se got Talent type shows.  We will be taping, in fact, and will put the show out on Youtube. You’ll be free to add your act to your reel…
The evening’s winner will be awarded a cash prize (a small percentage of the gate,) a cheesy trophy, and receive a booking for a performance at the theatre this season. 

Looking for three categories of performer: 

CATEGORY ONE: FOR REALS
We need people who want to actually audition for a night or part of a bill at the Mopco. We’re opening our range of performance offerings from just improv shows, and want to include more kinds of performance art. Some artists want a whole night of their own, others need a slot in a larger show—you can audition either type of performance at Pitch Night! We will seriously consider presenting any and all comers in a separate show. 

CATEGORY TWO: ARE YOU SERIOUS? 
People who just want to put together an act that sends up the whole genre of competition show for the hell of it— maybe you have no intention of winning a booking, but appreciate The Pitch Night show as a chance to perform your particular flavor of satire.  For this, you might want to use an assumed name/stage persona, and as long as you aren’t a hater or want to do actual porn, nothing is too crazy to bring to the stage. If you want to play in this category, you should let us know in advance, so we can best support you and the show as a whole. 

Performance slots will be five to seven minutes. If you are a standup artist, you know that’s a lot of time…let us know if you want a shorter or longer segment, we’ll see what we can do. 

CATEGORY THREE: JUDGES
We need a couple of seasoned performers who want to develop a celebrity judge persona for the night. May require a quick rehearsal prior to show. If that sounds like fun, let us know something about yourself! 

Interested? 
PERFORMER TICKETS will be available on Eventbrite on a sliding scale: you can pay what you want/can afford, but we figure it’s a show of your commitment to at lest pay a buck or so, or more if you can.
