The Two Of Us Productions, the award-winning theater company based in Copake
NY, is VERY pleased to announce AUDITIONS for their upcoming production of
CABARET (1998 version).  Presented in the intimate & well-equipped Copake
Grange Theater, you don't want to miss this true tale of bigotry,
intolerance, religious prejudice, and social upheaval.  CABARET will be
presented live & in-person with a full-orchestra Nov. 12, 13, 14 & the
following weekend of Nov. 18, 20, 21, 2021.

 

At its' heart CABARET is a dramatic commentary told through three parallel
story lines: the younger couple who are denying reality, the "toast of
Mayfair" Fraulein Sally Bowles and the aspiring novelist Cliff Bradshaw from
America; a dramatic & romantic sub-plot of love denied in the endearing
older couple Fraulein Schneider and Herr Schultz; and the social commentary
of the Master Of Ceremonies that was played by Joel Grey in the original
productions and Alan Cummings in the most recent Broadway production.  The
Kit Kat Klub performers that this show is so well known for support the
Master of Ceremonies in commenting on the dark cloud of National Socialism
that is engulfing 1930's Germany, and how the gathering storm is impacting
the principle characters.  

 

Auditions are being held for CABARET on: Thursday August 5th at 7pm;
Saturday August 7th at 11am; and Saturday August 14th at 11am.  Callbacks
are planned for Sunday August 15th at 1pm.  All auditions and callbacks will
be held at Copake Grange Theater, Empire Road, Copake NY.  12516.  Sides
will be provided.  Please be prepared to sing 16 bars of an uptempo swing
tune, an accompanist will be provided so please bring marked music. Wear
comfortable clothes and bring dance footwear for the audition.  Please bring
proof of vaccination.
