We are hiring a scenic technical director at Siena College!

Job Description:

The Technical Director will develop technical plans (and/or construction
drawings), build scenery and implement & support the preparation of the set
and theatre environment per the plans for all theatre productions and
events. The Technical Director supports the academic activities of the
theatre, music, and visual art components of the creative arts department
when those activities utilize performance spaces. This includes developing
plans for the technical needs for 2 Choirs and 1 Orchestra in the Beaudoin
Theatre of Foy Hall and assisting with preparations for art exhibitions,
film screenings, and art installations.

The Technical Director collaborates on the management of the Beaudoin
Theatre venue and all ancillary spaces associated with the theatre
operations: interior and exterior lobby; storage spaces; Green Room;
woodshop; paint shop; found theatre spaces; etc. The Technical Director is
responsible for ensuring the proper use and functionality of these spaces.
The job includes supervising work-study students, part-time student
employees, and practicum student workers. The Technical Director is
responsible for maintaining proper health and safety procedures in the
theatre. This position interfaces with several internal groups (such as
campus organizations, student clubs, Stage III Theatre club, Summer Theatre
Program) and external local and regional performing arts partners.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in technical theatre, theatre technology, stagecraft, or
related field and 3 years of technical theatre experience required

A background screening will be required.
