Albany Civic Theater (ACT) is holding auditions for ART by Yasmina Reza, 
directed by Kevin McNamara.

Audition Dates:
Monday and Tuesday, September 13, and 14, 2021. Call is for 7PM.

Place:
Albany Civic Theater, 235 Second Ave, Albany, NY
Auditions will be reading from sides.

Synopsis:
This translation of the provocative French play explores what happens 
among three friends when one of them buys a large, very expensive piece 
of art – a canvas completely covered in white paint with a few white 
lines. ART is a clever discussion about the nature of art, and also the 
nature of friendship.

Cast Breakdown:
3 Males -
Marc: Marc is friends with Serge. Marc is a bit cynical and very 
critical of Serge’s latest purchase.
Age - between 30 and 60.

Serge: Serge has just bought a work of art. He is very taken with his 
acquisition, and can’t abide by anyone else not loving it as much as he.
Age – between 30 and 60.

Yvan: Yvan is friends with both Marc and Serge. He doesn’t like 
confrontation, and is trying very hard to keep the peace between Marc 
and Serge and their differing opinions of the “art”.
Age – between 30 and 60.

November 12 - 14, 18 - 21, 2021
