LOCAL AUDITIONS

All listed parts are open and Equity actors and non-Equity actors will be considered for these roles.
WHEN/WHERE: Singing/acting auditions will take place on Saturday, May 14 from 10AM-2PM at Capital Repertory Theatre, 251 N. Pearl St, Albany 12207.
TO AUDITION: send resume and headshot to Casting at capitalrep.org<mailto:Casting at capitalrep.org>. Selected candidates will be given an audition time for 5/14. An acting side will be sent to selected candidates. The theatre will provide an accompanist and a scene reader for auditions. (a dance call will take place on an evening between May 16-19)
PREPARE: 32-bars of a pop song that shows off your voice.
BRING: Resume, headshot, (stapled together), YOUR SHEET MUSIC. in the key you sing it and the side you will have been sent. Proof of vaccination.
PLEASE NOTE: Capital Rep is a fully vaccinated company. Actors must show proof of vax to audition and must be fully boosted by time of employment.

Synopsis: A group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks becomes the biggest doo-wop sensation of all time: The Four Seasons. The tune-filled show traces their first stumbles and fumbles to their rise to become international icons of their generation. Although personal problems and professional differences almost ripped the group apart, they managed to climb to the top of the pop charts over and over again with big hits, including “Sherry,” “Walk Like A Man,“ “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” and many more

PRINCIPALS:
TOMMY DeVITO: (Male, 30-40) All ethnicities. Strong tenor/bari-tenor voice. Comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; comfortable with narrative text; a natural-born leader with an appealing, bad-boy quality. Plays guitar.
NICK MASSI: (Male, 30-40) All ethnicities. Strong bass/baritone voice; comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; comfortable with narrative text; a quiet dreamer who longs for life after The Four Seasons.
SUPPORTING/EMSEMBLE:
GYP DECARLO (Male, supporting/chorus) (45-55) All ethnicities. Tough, mafioso type, a strong singer. Plays other patrons, producers, etc.
JOE PESCI (Male, supporting/chorus) (20s-30s) All Ethnicities. 5’9” or shorter; young, energetic; a strong singer; has to sound like Joe Pesci. Plays recording studio engineer, various patrons, etc. and will understudy one of the Seasons,
BARRY BELSON track(Male, supporting/chorus) (20s-49) Strong singer, tenor. Friends, producers, etc; Strong tenor to high C, with a strong falsetto to G above high C; has the ability to riff in rhythm-and-blues style/rap. Ethnicity: Asian, Black / African Descent, Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial, Indigenous Peoples, Latino / Hispanic, Middle Eastern, South Asian / Indian, Southeast Asian / Pacific Islander.
NORM track: (Male, 30s-35) All ethnicities, plays the loan shark, waiters, restaurant patrons, studio engineer, etc; versatile singer/dancer/actor. Baritone.
JOE track: (Male 20s-30s) All ethnicities, plays various patrons, publisher, accountant, rapper (in opening number), plays one of the substitute Four Seasons with Frankie Valli, etc. Tenor, falsetto, pop vibe.
CHARLIE track (Male 20s-30s) All ethnicities, plays various patrons, publisher, rapper (in opening), plays one of the substitute Four Seasons with Frankie Valli, etc. bass or bass-baritone.

CHORUS + PRINCIPAL:
MARY (supporting/chorus) (30s) All ethnicities. Strong singer, actor, and dancer; Frankie’s wife; tough, "seen it all," Italian, Jersey girl; she’s got a killer sense of humor; actor also plays a variety of other roles, including member of a 60s style Angel girl group; strong belt useful; high straight tone soprano also useful but not required. Plays patrons, the Angels, rapper dancer, publishers, etc.
ANGEL track (20s-30s) All ethnicities. Strong singer, good with harmony for the Angels (60’s girl group), waitresses, patrons, escort, etc. Alto or soprano, pop vibe. Good dancer, rap, pop styles.
