*Show Description:*

Set in the 1980s, Rose and Walsh is the story of two American literary
figures and the depth and consequence of their enduring love. At a
beautiful beach house on the tip of Long Island, Rose, a celebrated but
near penniless playwright receives nightly visits from Walsh, the love of
her life and a famous mystery writer. Now Walsh must go away forever, but
not before securing Rose’s financial future with an extraordinary proposal
that promises to change everything. This play is inspired by the 30-year
relationship between American playwright Lillian Hellman and mystery writer
Dashiell Hammett.

*Available Roles:*

*Rose Steiner / Female Identifying / Age 64*

A famous Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright who has run through her money
and her strength. She is attractive, temperamental, extremely smart,
sarcastic and vulnerable. She’s also a serious drinker whose eyesight is
failing. She has loved Walsh for thirty years.

*Arlene Moss / Female Identifying / Age 34*

Rose’s assistant. She is efficient and solicitous; she handles Rose and
holds her together, but is not a pushover. Attractive and intelligent, she
is also lonely and filled with self-doubt, partially due to her long
relationship with Rose.

*Gavin Clancy / Male Identifying / Age Mid-30’s*

A young, talented, struggling writer who is discouraged and disillusioned
about his craft. He drinks a little too much and puts up a sardonic,
self-deprecating mask to hide his disappointment and confusion.

Please note that all participants in CCT shows must have completed the
COVID vaccination cycle and booster and adhere to masking policies.
