Voice Theatre: is casting ‘ART’  by Yasmina Reza, director, Shauna Kanter.

Online auditions will be followed by in-person callbacks in NYC & Kingston, NY.

 

To be considered all actors must show proof of vaccination and booster

 

Available Roles:

Serge (50-65) An art lover, knows who he is and what he likes, an intelligent, well to do dermatologist. Seeking an actor who is verbally articulate and physically expressive. 

 

Marc (60-70) A vulnerable bully, opinionated, obstinate, a hypochondriac and possibly unhappily married, aeronautical engineer. Seeking an actor who is verbally articulate and physically expressive. 

 

Synopsis:

Set in Paris, the play revolves around three friends—Serge, Marc and Yvan—who find their previously solid 15-year friendship on shaky ground when Serge buys an expensive painting. The canvas is white, with several fine white lines. Marc detests the painting. A power struggle escalates into violence as all three men confront each other exposing their long-buried truths.

 

Opening: October 13, 2022

Closing: October 23, 2022

Rehearsals begin: September 6th (daytime rehearsals)

Performances: Thursday - Saturday: 7:30pm + Sunday matinees @ 2pm

Rehearsals and Performances will take place in our new venue:

Bethany Hall, 272 Wall Street, Kingston, NY

Actors Equity Association (Special Appearance Contract-7 weeks)

Non-Equity actors may apply and will receive commiserate contract

Housing for out-of-town actors and transportation expenses

 

On-line auditions: Mon. June 13th 10:30am–3:00pm, Tues. June 14th 1pm-6:40pm & Sat. June 25th 3pm-6pm

 

NYC in-person callbacks: Thurs., June 23rd & Fri., June 24th

Kingston, NY in-person callbacks: Sun. June 26th & Sat. July 9th

 

All auditions are by appointment only.

NYC callbacks will be held at Alliance for Resident Theaters, 520 8th Avenue

Kingston callbacks will be held at Bethany Hall, 272 Wall St. Kingston, NY
